Sao Viet Sankyo Elevator began its journey of researching, manufacturing, and supplying elevator and automation solutions in Vietnam. After 10 years of establishment and development, the company has made its mark with hundreds of projects across the country.

In 2023 , facing increasingly fierce competition and a market flooded with brands of unclear origin, Sao Viet Sankyo Elevator determined it needed to find a reputable international partner with products that had transparent branding and origin.

At Vietnam Elevator Expo 2023 , Sao Viet Sankyo Elevator approached Nova KDS, a brand belonging to the Nova ecosystem of Japan. Representatives from Nova KDS stated that their products, bearing international branding, were manufactured in China. At that time, this remained a significant psychological barrier for some Vietnamese customers, given the market's prevalence of products marketed as originating from Japan or South Korea.

However, Sao Viet Sankyo Elevator believes that the quality, technology, and practical value of a product are the decisive factors in building customer trust. Based on this understanding, the company decided to establish a partnership with Nova KDS, focusing on developing elevator lines using Nova KDS motors and Nova KMC-1000 control systems.

2. Become a distributor of Nova KDS motors (Japan)

Since 2024 , Sao Viet Sankyo Elevator has officially been the distributor of Nova KDS motors, aiming to develop elevator lines with clearly traceable component origins and technologies in the Vietnamese market. Based on this, Sankyo Elevator focuses on researching, assembling, and commercializing elevator lines using Nova KDS motors and Nova KMC-1000 control systems, combining Nova KDS technology with Sankyo Elevator's design, manufacturing, and implementation capabilities in Vietnam.

Nova is a leading global manufacturer of electric motors, founded in 1973 in Kyoto, Japan. After more than 50 years of development, Nova owns a global production network with hundreds of member companies and over 100,000 employees. Through a strategic partnership program, Nova Vietnam Elevators has become the distributor of Nova KDS elevator motors for the Vietnamese market.

This is the foundation upon which Nova Vietnam Elevators develops products that meet high technical standards, aligning with the trends of green buildings and smart cities. Nova Gearless Motors – Energy-saving solutions for modern elevators. One of the outstanding technologies the company is applying is the gearless traction machine. Unlike traditional drive systems, gearless motors completely eliminate mechanical gearboxes, reducing friction and increasing transmission efficiency.

Please note that: Sankyo Elevator productsutilize control systems and gearless traction machines from WR & WJC / Nova KDS (part of Nova Group, Japan) – however, these are still products manufactured in Vietnam under the Sankyo Elevator brand . Only products directly imported from Nova Elevator Corporation are permitted to use the Nova Group's logo.

3. Formation of the Nova elevator joint venture.

Nova Elevator Company was formed through a collaboration between Sao Viet Sankyo Elevator and SMC Group – a corporation with 15 years of experience in the mechanical and construction fields, with a focus on developing high-end joint venture elevator lines using Nova KDS motors and control systems.

In order to specialize production and improve management efficiency, the Nova Elevator factory was separated from the Sankyo Elevator system, establishing an independent production line specializing in the manufacturing and assembly of elevators using Nova KDS technology.

The production system is organized according to a strict quality control process, aiming for a green, clean, and modern environment. Products focus on home elevators, mini elevators, passenger elevators, and cargo elevators, utilizing Nova Gearless motors to optimize performance, energy efficiency, and durability.

With a development orientation based on international standards, Nova Elevators not only provides high-quality elevator solutions but also invests in research, production, technology transfer, and the development of a product ecosystem. Through this, the company is gradually increasing the localization rate, enhancing domestic production value, and contributing to improving the competitiveness of the Vietnamese elevator industry in regional and international markets.

By 2025 , the SMC Group Board of Directors decided to separate the elevator system into an independent legal entity called Nova Vietnam Elevator Joint Stock Company, with Mr. Do Hoang Giang as CEO. Alongside the establishment of the business, the company invested in building a manufacturing plant in Binh Chanh, Ho Chi Minh City, developing a production line specializing in manufacturing, assembling, and testing elevators using Nova Gearless motors, gradually increasing the localization rate and ensuring a reliable supply of equipment.
